Ceppo di gre' stone

a grey-blue ornamental stone, originally from gre', located near lake iseo, italy, particularly used in architecture during spanish rule. The word ceppo means "rock with pebbles" and this is its main aesthetic feature. Highly resistant to foot traffic and abrasion, this stone has been used in high traffic projects such as the munich subway, the congress centre in hamburg and the cathedral square in cologne.
