Background

Meydan Grandstand and Racecourse is the brainchild of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. This visionary and innovative project has not only created the ultimate venue for horseracing, but also an integrated and sustainable venue and one that positions Dubai at the centre of the competitive global business stage. Meydan Grandstand and Racecourse includes a stadium for 60,000 spectators, a five-star hotel, exquisite fine-dining restaurants, covered parking for 8,600 cars, the Meydan Museum and Gallery, and the Dubai Racing Club along with Emirates Racing Authority offices.

Scope

For a project of this size, it was important for RAK Ceramics to provide the contractors with a range of options to choose from. S.D. Concept and Leader LLC were the lead contractors. The final selection of tiles chosen provided Meydan Grandstand with the required durability and luxury finish one would expect from a world-class venue.

Results

XILO Series, GEMS Collection, OXIDIUM Series, LOUNGE Series and ALICANTE Series were chosen by the clients to meet the expectations of this luxury project. RAK Ceramics is proud to add the Meydan Grandstand to its list of Super Projects.
