Background

Princess Noura Bint Abdul Rahman University is the world's largest women’s university. Built at an estimated cost of US$11.5 billion, the university can accommodate more than 26,000 students, across 13 campuses. Specialties include: medicine, dentistry, nursing, naturopathy, IT, languages, instant translation and pharmacology. The project also includes an administration building, a central library, conference rooms, buildings for 15 academic faculties, several laboratories, a 700-bed hospital equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, housing for university staff, mosques, a kindergarten, and exclusive leisure facilities for students and families.

Scope

Designed to establish new benchmarks in the academic sector, this large-scale project required high quality tiling solutions to complement the innovative, yet traditional design elements. RAK Ceramics with its range of innovative products, designs and choice of colors, was chosen to meet the required specifications. In total, RAK Ceramics supplied 230,000 square meters of high quality porcelain tiles.

Results
