Background

The Torch is a super tall skyscraper situated in Dubai Marina. The tower became one of the world’s tallest residential buildings, when it opened in 2011. The tower reaches 348 meters in height with 79 floors above ground and an occupied area of 111,832 meters squared. This iconic residential tower was built at an estimated cost of AED 665 million.

Scope

Designed by Dubai based architects, Khatib and Alami, The Torch comprises 504 luxury apartments from studios, 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms up to spectacular duplex penthouses. All units open onto spacious balconies with unrivalled views of Dubai Marina. In order to meet the requirements of combining an aesthetically pleasing look and feel with durability, Riviera and Marbleized series’ were chosen for the floors. The radiance of the Super white Series was chosen to create a stunning, glossy finish on the wall areas.

Results

The Torch is a landmark in the region and has been developed to a very high standard. The architects wanted a long lasting, high quality tiling solution and based on the company’s strong reputation for large scale installation across several international projects, RAK Ceramics was their first choice.
