The new Movenpick Hotel, Stuttgart Airport opened diagonally opposite the existing Movenpick Hotel Stuttgart Messe at Stuttgart's exhibition Centre. After Frankfurt and Hamburg, this was the third new hotel the company opened in Germany within the space of just 16 months.
Visible from afar, the colorful architecture has been integrated into the airport site and the new exhibition Centre. With its H-shaped design, the building boasts a bright aluminum facade, broken up by generous expanses of windows. Four different but harmonious red tones make for a lively facade. The hotel is accessed via a pedestrian approach between the exhibition Centre and the terminals. The hotel comprises an impressive eight-meter hotel lobby, 326 spacious rooms, 12 junior suites, two royal suites, a restaurant, two bars and a 400 square meter spa and wellness area. In addition conference and banquet rooms with state-of-the-art facilities was also part of the scope of work.
The use of contrasting colors and materials makes for a dramatic overall effect. Surfaces with a particularly robust sealing ensure that the sophisticated look will withstand heavy visitor traffic. RAK Ceramics Gems and Lounge Series’ were best suited for the areas chosen. A grand total of 42,000 square meters of tiles were laid in the guestroom bathrooms and the hotel's public sanitary facilities. The tiles in question were unglazed, double-coated porcelain for indoor walls and floors. The bespoke measurements of 29.8 x 59.8cm and 9.8 x 9.8cm used meant that the tiles fit the grouting perfectly.
